Mum and the Mzee

A few weeks ago, there were some visitors to Bundibugyo that were very important to me! My mom and dad were able to come and spend over 2 weeks with me in Africa and it was such an encouragement! I feel so blessed to have been able to share my life here with them and I think they enjoyed it too :) They spent a week with me in Bundibugyo followed by a much-needed (by me) vacation to Kenya. Since I’ve been back from Kenya, everyone wants to know if my “mum” and the “mzee” (a term of respect for older men) made it back to America safely.

One of my favorite things was seeing Uganda through their eyes—while it is still often crazy to me, the exotic-ness has often worn off. Here are some of their photos for your enjoyment!
